Summary
UnFeed is a browser extension that hides social media feeds on pages you visit. It runs locally in your browser. It does not require an account. It does not sell your data.
What UnFeed does
When enabled for a supported site, UnFeed injects scripts and styles on that site to hide feed and recommendation surfaces (for example home timelines, For You, Explore, and related suggestion rails). You can still use search, profiles, messages, and direct links where the site provides them.
Data we collect
We do not collect personal browsing data.
UnFeed does not operate a backend that receives:
- Your social media content or messages
- Browsing history beyond what Chrome already stores locally
- Analytics events, advertising IDs, or tracking pixels
Data stored on your device
UnFeed uses Chrome’s chrome.storage API to save preferences
on your device (and optionally synced through your Google account if you
use Chrome sync), such as which sites are enabled and whether Pro is
unlocked. This data stays under your browser/profile control.
Permissions
UnFeed requests:
- Storage — to save your site toggles and Pro status
- Access to specific social site URLs — only the networks listed in the extension, so it can hide feeds on those pages
UnFeed does not request access to all websites. It does not send the content of your messages or posts to any server.
Pro / license keys
If you purchase UnFeed Pro, payment is handled by Polar (Merchant of Record) with its own privacy policy. UnFeed stores a license flag or key locally on your device to unlock all sites.
Children
UnFeed is not directed at children under 13. Do not use the extension if you are under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
